In addition to co-producing his own albums, Gerry has produced the works of other artists. |
In 1982, Gerry produced the album "Shoot Out the Lights" for his friends Richard and Linda Thompson. This album never saw the light of day, as either the record company or the Thompsons didn't like it. The Thompsons eventually had Joe Boyd produce this album. The original "Shoot Out the Lights" album has appeared as a bootleg (often called "Rafferty's Folly"). Tracks from Gerry's version finally were released on Richard Thompson's 1993 compilation album, "Watching the Dark". |

In 1987, Gerry produced the first album ("This is the Story") for The Proclaimers, which included the single "Letter From America". There's plenty of interesting trivia here...Gerry co-produced the album with his long-time producer Hugh Murphy. And in 1997, The Proclaimers provided several songs for "The Slab Boys" soundtrack -- the first film by John Patrick Byrne (the artist who designed many of Gerry's album covers like "City to City"). |

In 1996, Gerry and Hugh Murphy produced the compilation album "Dreams Fly Away" for Linda Thompson. This is the same Linda Thompson as in "Richard and Linda Thompson" -- Gerry's "Shoot Out the Lights" fiasco. |

Natasha and Sophia In 1999 and 2000, Gerry worked with these two beautiful women from Prague, Czechoslovakia. He hopes to produce an album from these "Dixie Czechs" in 2000. |
